The Nation comes together to celebrate and sing “It’s coming home, it’s coming” – Football is NEVER coming home to England. Never. Now me, I’m an Italian, well, I’m half Italian but I have supported them as my national football team for as long as I can remember and I always will. Take last night’s football match. England VS Italy. The majority of people thought that I would support England over Italy as I live in England, was born in England and I’m a British citizen. However, as stated, I will always support Italy. As you can probably guess I was faced with over 2 hours of awkwardness in a bar. I was threatened (to get chucked out) and shouted at! I hope in jest but who knows! It was trying to contain my excitement and happiness of the Italian victory when the final penalty was taken. I am still on a high from this but I cannot share this joy as I am blamed for the English loss. I am the English curse. For as long as I support Italy and send them my supportive love, England will miss out.

I have never been to a live match, but watching Italy play fascinates me! In fact, watching men in shorts running around getting all sweaty and hot fascinates me (I AM NOT A PERVERT). I get over patriotic when it comes to my darling ancestral country known as ITALIA but I can’t become patriotic over England. Maybe it’s the English stereotype of being boisterous and a pig which I don’t agree with and therefore refuse to become one. I take Italian national pride seriously. We have an amazing National Anthem which is about the heart of Italy and the pride we Italians have for our country, how we join together to protect her and we would die for her. English: Let’s save the Queen.

So there you have, a 20year old female’s view of what it is to be patriotic and football in a nut shell. Comments, thoughts and what not.
